Diesel World: Overview of the 1996 F350 Ford Power Stroke BuildUp

One of those trucks that will never go out of fashion is the Old Body Style (OBS), 1994-97 Ford. There's quite something regarding the 7.3L power stroke that drivers still enjoy. Regardless of whether you owned one, your father owned one, or your neighbor owned one, a considerable lot of us have a memory of these old vehicles(trucks). From that time, it was time to begin another large project, and whenever we focus on an older truck good response, we get from readers resembled the perfect fit. This ' 96 F350 was situated not far from home after months of searching and appeared a bright future. The utilized truck market is crazy at present, and we found these old Ford regularly in the $15-20 K range, so it was worth the second look when this one popped up at $12K. Meeting the owner who had driven it for more than 20 years, we were thrilled to discover it nearly rust free and with a comparatively smooth interior. We had an idea of what kind of work was going to go into it after riding the truck and finishing it once and felt happy with making an offer.  It had 224,000 miles on it, which was more than needed, but the motor ran strong. Also, the oil and transmission liquid were in excellent condition.

Before replacing it with a newer Dodge pickup, the prior proprietor had used the truck as his regular driver and weekend tow rig for over 15 years. The vehicle had spent a lot of time sitting from that time and was going to require a few essential support and love to be daily driver worthy. With regards to discovering parts for '94-'97 F250/F350 trucks, there is one go-to shop that has some expertise in everything OBS Ford. Siblings Chris and Paul Rutledge controlled the Complete Performance (CP Addict), who have nothing brief of a disease for the OBS Ford trucks. They have constructed a whole company around their love of these trucks and are known for their aptitude countrywide. So, it looked like a no brainer to spend some time on the phone with them and surfing cpaddict.com site for a list of things we needed for this construct which we call Project Obsessed. To substitute the faded grille and lamps, the Rutledge boys recommended the six-piece headlight which is in our selection of clear or smoked lenses together with some latest headlight bezels. Since our neighborhood laws don't permit smoked lenses, we selected for the clear lens package which will enhance the looks of our old Ford. All parts were pieces that were direct-fit and fit perfectly. We picked to change our faded taillights with some new, unique red tails from CP Addict. We'll make some fundamental performance changes in next month's installment, including a fresh cold-air intake, fuel system, and custom tuning to help take a little breath to that old power stroke engine. With one objective we're going to turn this truck inside out: to create one of the best OBS trucks on the highway. Call us crazy, though we hope to see this ancient Ford perform the intensity of a new vehicle with comparable ride quality and flexibility to be a reliable daily driver. Any person can buy the right truck, but we're looking for that sense of pride that you feel when you manufacture one with your own hands. Stay tuned: The Obsessed project will be enjoyable.
